Want to experience Shabbat?
Friday, February 28, 2020
Whether you celebrate Shabbat regularly or want to learn how to enrich your home Shabbat celebration, all are invited to experience its joy at CBSRZ on Friday, February 28th as we celebrate Shabbat Across America. Shabbat, the weekly Jewish day of rest, is when families gather together to observe a traditional service and enjoy a festive meal.
A wine and cheese reception begins at 6:00 pm followed by a traditional family Shabbat dinner with side dishes contributed by congregation members and the main course provided by Alforno’s. Rabbi Marci Bellows and Cantor Belinda Brennan will lead an interactive Shabbat service with all the rituals explained.
Capping the evening will be a Oneg Shabbat when all are invited to enjoy an array of homemade desserts and fellowship.
This special Shabbat Across America celebration is free of charge and open to the community, but advance registration is required. For more information, call the CBSRZ office 860.526.8920.
Security Measures: In order to ease our minds as we come together to celebrate Shabbat, we have taken steps to increase security during this event. Please don’t be alarmed if you see a police presence or other security measures. Unless it is absolutely necessary, please do not bring large bags or backpacks; bags will be subject to inspection by a local law officer or by our private security guard.
